For the last fifteen years I've worked as a freelance journalist. I came to journalism late in life, having sampled the delights of such career options as painting and decorating, catering, traveling the world, and teaching aerobics – something that fitted well around raising three children .

The Lynton and Barnstaple Railway Trust

Lynton-Barnstaple Britain's most ambitious restoration project. Have a look at their website, and lend them your support. Located in the South West of England, The Lynton and Barnstaple Railway was opened in 1898 and closed in 1935. Built to a track gauge of 1ft 11½in it ran for a distance of 19½ miles linking the two North Devon towns from which it takes its name.
